Trip to AZ over Memorial Day

We left the Wednesday before Memorial Day to drive to Arizona. Originally, we were going to stay in St. George the first night and continue on the next day. Instead, we thought we would just go on to Vegas since it's pretty much the half way point to Tucson. The hotel we stayed at was called South Point. The room was actually pretty big for the 40 dollars we spent and the bathroom was big enough that we just put the crib in there with Kelsie. We got up the next morning to leave at about 4:45 after Kelsie had woken up at 1:00, then 2:30 and finally at 4:45 when Mom had had enough.

On the way to Tucson, we stopped in to see Chad's brother Todd. We went swimming in their pool which Kelsie was not too keen on. If Chad swam away or went under water she would get super sad and say 'Dada? Dada?' So it took her a while to warm up to it. Her cousins (Rylee and Maddie) were really nice to her though and were trying to get her to say words. I hope Kels is just as outgoing as them one day. She loved it.

Chad and I brought our bikes down since we both have races coming up.  While we biked, Kels played outside with Gaines and Bella.
Monkey see.
Monkey do.
Kelsie's new best friend Cody. One morning she woke up, (at 5:30 of course) looked over at me, said 'Hi', and then 'Dada? Doggie? Papa Nelson?' Obviously realizing where we were still and excited to see her favorite peeps. She would follow Cody everywhere and get so excited when he came into the room. It almost makes me want to get a dog. Almost.
Chad with the kids and his bloody eye. I punched him and that's how he got it. Just kidding. He just woke up and saw that a blood vessel burst in his eye. Weird.
Giving love to her cousin.
Always the ham trying to make people laugh.
Cute pigtails done by Aunt Heather. Another Aunt she'll sit still for.
Same face maybe?
Love those thighs. I like to squeeze them and make her laugh. Then I tell her she is boy crazy:)

Friday night, we went to a U of A baseball game. Saturday night, we got a babysitter and saw the new Pirates. Sunday afternoon, we saw Tyler and Liz in Sierra Vista. We finally got to check out there house and garden. Very nice but a very windy day. On Memorial Day, we visited some graves on the Bowman's side and then we came home for swimming and a BBQ.  We only missed the Wilkes but it's our fault. We were going to see them on our way back but then we realized that were weren't staying in Vegas on the way back but in St. George instead. It's probably good we didn't stop because it took us 9 hours to get to Utah. Kelsie was a big stinker until we got to Kingman and she fell asleep until a little passed Vegas. Sorry Wilkes'. Next time.

Our trip to Tucson was a lot of fun and we are glad we could spent time with the Nelson side of the family. But man, is it hot down there! Sheesh.

Some of my favorites....right now!

I don't have facebook anymore to update the random things that I love at the moment so I'm just going to post about all of them. Okay? Okay.
Numero Uno: Impel Clothing. Love it. Like really love it. Would work extra hours just to buy everything off their site kind of love. I almost don't want to tell people about it because the clothing they put up seriously vanishes quickly. Such a good price and so cute. Fortunately for Chad, I've only bought one shirt but there have been many potentials.

These are two of my current favs on the radar.

Number 2:  I can not get enough of anything sweet. But if I had to choose what I would bring on a deserted island it would be Hershey's Cookies and Cream Drops. They are positively sinful. I'm not quite sure that the Devil doesn't make these himself because I can not stay away from them. I bought two bags the other day with a coupon and a few days later Chad finally notices them on the top shelf of the pantry. (Totally plain site, so fair game for anyone, am I right?) He digs in and says "Have you almost eaten this whole bag?" To which I reply "Hey! There is another bag up there you know." Obviously I'm justified.  If you are on a diet or ever hope to be on one do not get these. EVER!

Number 3: It's clear to see that I need something else that counteracts the effects of "The Drops". One word. Burpees. A few months ago, my sister-in-law posted about a workout website that basically shows a workout routine each day. It's called Bodyrock. Very little equipment. Short killer workouts. No need to drive to a gym. Need I say more? Honestly, it's kind of intimidating to start cause the chick on there is super toned and you wonder how you are ever going to do what she does.  I haven't been doing all the workouts everyday because I've been training for other things as well but I definitely feel better about how my day goes when I put it on and kick my own butt.

Number 4: Little House on the Prairie. I know. Lame. But I've really grown to love this show. I hated it growing up cause I swore it was the only thing on after I got home from school. They just have such good values and lots of hardworking, god fearing characters. Plus, I have a secret crush on Michael Landon. Those curly brown locks. Who could resist? I have been watching it more because we cut down on our tv package. No more E! or Bravo. I had to said goodbye to the Kardashian sisters and The "Real" Housewives of any city. The debauchery. Don't judge me.

That's it for now. Kelsie wanted to add her favorites to my list so here ya go:
  1. Going outside.
  2. The park.
  3. Riding the rocking horse.
  4. Coloring.
  5. Bubbles.
  6. Nursery (Oh wait. That's on Mom's list.)
  7. Dad.
  8. Milk.
  9. Anything sweet.
  10. Looking cute with very little effort.

Better for Someone Else

You see this little girl right here? The sweet looking one below? She needed a break from her parents. At least, that's what I told my sister. She had gotten her vaccinations that week and had not been feeling good. Little stuff was throwing tantrums and freaking out all weekend so my seriously awesome sister offered to take her for a night. We jumped at the chance. We left her and dashed off into the sunset! I used priceline that day and bid on a hotel room. It was the Marriott up by the U for 65 bucks! A little ways out but still fun. Well, other than the queen size bed we had to squeeze onto, we had a good time. We went to a Lebanese restaurant called Mazza that we haven't been to since we were first married. Soooooo goooood! Their hummus is spectacular! Then we went to a movie. Just like the old days. Ahhhhh.
Later I got a text picture from my sister with a little foot with little painted toenails. Of course, Kelsie lets her paint her fingernails and toenails. Oh and she let her do her hair. Are you kidding me? She would not let me do a dang thing without a freak out. Kelli then tells me that her daughter Hailee helped distract her. I NEED A HAILEE! I really think she just will do anything for anybody but us! And Kelli has some Zen like qualities that I think appear after your last child is no longer a toddler:)

I'm coming after YOU!

Easter 2011

This year, we had an easter lunch and egg hunt at my Mom's on Saturday. No pics. Sorry. Then we crashed the Name party (Kelli's in-laws) in Alpine where we had dinner and another egg hunt.

Kelsie's Easter Basket. Notice the necklaces that were in there have been snatched out. I've never seen her eyes get so wide over "pretties".

Givin' love to Mom and Dad for her basket!

On the HUNT! She needed a little encouragement but got the hang of it really quickly. We were running around the yard with her and she was laughing hard.

All of the crazy Easter Egg Hunters at the Name's!

I know! Right!?!

Yeah. Yeah. It's been awhile. I just couldn't get myself to pick up the computer and start blogging. I thought about it multiple times during the month but I just couldn't do it! Lame-o! Well, here ya go. I'll catch ya up on our comings and goings.

First, I'll take you back to our trip to St. George over President's Day.......

St. George Trip President's Day 2011

The Lunt's were nice enough to invite us to their family condo in St. George over President's Day weekend. We were nice enough to bring Kelsie and her sickness with us therefore infecting the whole family. I think maybe we might have uninvited ourselves forever! Oopsy.

Jayden's 7th Birthday Celebration. I remember when this kid was 3 weeks old.
Where the freak does 7 years go?
Cooking it up!

Serious obsession with the goggles. She would walk around the condo in them.

The hike!

Someone teach this girl to stand up straight. Sheesh.

We are serious hikers here people. Move along.

Kelsie did a great job on the ride. It was our first big road trip. She actually slept for the last half of it after she screamed for about 10 minutes. The sleeping made up for the screaming.

We had a good time hanging out while it rained outside...booooo! But it did lighten up enough for us to take a 3 mile hike in Snow Canyon. Beautiful. If you haven't hiked in Southern Utah you are definitely missing out on some of God's greatest creations on this Earth. No kidding. Even though the sandy hike was kind of killer, it made me smile to see red sand between my toes from my running shoes for a couple of weeks after.
