Kelsie's First Day of Preschool!

September 2013

Forgot to post about this little chica's first day of school! She went with her buddy Jet so Melissa and I had a good carpool going. She actually let me curl her hair that day. Kind of a miracle.

Breastfeeding and blogging!

Don't worry. I won't post a pic of what I'm currently engaged in.
This is Kels, Lana and I getting ready for the Ward Halloween Party. The YW/YM were in charge and also holding a fundraiser for next years budget. I had just been "promoted" to YW secretary from advisor so was doing my best to help out with Chad on a hunting trip. I made a bunch of sugar cookies that the little kids in my ward decorated. Lots were left over and I figured out you can freeze sugar cookies but they stay soft right from the freezer.

The Witch and her Black Cat!
Kels enjoyed the face painting done by a talented young woman!
This is the printable and treat I made for the YW for Halloween. It says:
'There's no Bones about it! We want you to have a Happy Halloween...but we've got our Eye on you!'

I don't know when and I don't know how but I know there's something starting right nnnoooowwww.....

I've been debating for months whether or not I should continue blogging or rather start blogging again. It has been over a year since my last post and the overwhelmingness (that's a word, right?) of starting it again has stopped me over and over again. I just don't journal anymore like I used to and I really feel like this could be a good place to journal the goings on of my family.
Recently, I have been reading the history of my Great Grandpa Byrant Manning Jolley. In the first page, he talks about how for 60 years he wished he would have kept a journal. 60 years? It was totally a sign for me that I need to keep something going.
We use our phones more frequently for pictures, so part of the overwhelmingness is downloading all of those and organizing. A lot can happen in a year and a half. Like a baby.....sorry Caroline:(
So even though no one is probably reading this I am determined to start again and have something for my great granddaughter to read someday.

More Heritage Park with Chloe

I love this place! We have a good time here all summer. The little train and Brigham's Donut's are two of our favorite spots!

Silly Pics from My Phone

This is what happens when your mom sneaks in your room at night and takes a picture.
Sweetness overload!!!
This is what happens when you go to the Splash Pad park and end up going to the splash pad in your clothes instead!
Soaked!!
And this is what happens when you have crazy girls and a bright flash on the camera!
Bahahaha!
And finally, this is what happens when your mom goes through the drive through too often. You know without looking that there should be food coming your way so you lift your hand up, make some grunts, and open and close your hand really fast.

Chalk Art Craziness

Just biding our time before the school year starts and the summer ends. Man! This heat is killing me! But then that means the cold is coming and I can't decide which I hate worse!

Lana's bum was dirty in 0.5 seconds of getting the chalks out!

Our 5th Anniversary/Ward Campout

Yes. Yes. You did read that right. Our 5th Anniversary happened to fall on the same night as the ward campout this year. Coincidence? No. I would call it serious forgetfulness. You see, my dear husband was in charge this year and decided August 2nd looked like a great day for a campout. Weird. I always thought it was a good day to get married and maybe have an anniversary. Hmmm....different pages I guess.
So of course, we packed up the car/kids and headed out for the most romantic anniversary yet!!! We camped at a spot up East Canyon. This would be our first time camping with Lana and second with Kels. Yeah. We are definitely not big campers with the kiddos.
It was scorching hot while the sun was out but cooled down in the evening. In fact, at 2 in the am it cooled down enough that Lana felt like she couldn't sleep anymore. We took her into our sleeping bags which ended up being quite the fiasco. Lots of up and down and turning around. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep. Except for Kelsie. She ended up sleeping the whole night. I did give her 1/2 miligram of melatonin which might have helped:)
Let's just chalk this one up to most adventurous Anniversary! I did have some neighbors offer to take my kids for the night to their tent and my sister send us a poster to put on our tent....something about 'if the tents a rockin'......I don't know! Can you imagine? Haha. Oh the stories to be had.
