One of the Greatest Dads on Earth...errr....I mean Heaven!

It's surprises me how fast time can go by. Today, it has been two years since my dad died. I can look back and remember pretty much everything from that day and that first month. Time and faith does make it easier to cope with losing him but there are still moments when it gets hard to not have him around. Life is so short and can change in an instant. Nothing is as important as my family and he taught me that, even with his death. And even though I still can't talk about him for too long without crying I know that he is still around.

I've never known anyone so friendly, funny, smart and lovable. Most, if not all of my friends loved my dad. Most, if not all the people my dad came in contact with loved him. I sware he talked to everyone everywhere because everyone knew him.

I try to remember the little things about him. The way he would look at you sideways with a half grin, or when he gave you a big hug he would pat your back with both hands back and forth fast. Or when he had something important to say and couldn't remember what he was saying he'ld point and wag his finger. Uncle Rog does the best impression of this. You should ask him one day.

Did he drive my crazy sometimes? Well, duh. I was a teenager once and I did get yelled at for being a stupid teenager. But, I look back on those days and am very thankful for the way my Dad stepped into my life then and later. Probably one of the last talks we had was just a few months before he died. It consisted of the type of boy I should be dating/marrying. He took me out to dinner and I complained about how dorky boys are. He told me to 'look past the dorkiness'. Most of them were good and that even he was still a little dorky sometimes. So, thankfully for Chad, I did what he suggested.

He was/is a great man. And even though I miss him a lot I know he is working hard in Heaven and watching over us. Love ya DAD!

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

Okay, I know, I know you're asking yourself, 'Isn't it a little early to be putting out Christmas decorations?' And I say, 'Yeah probably!' I just all of the sudden got really excited about Christmas and felt like I had to start decorating! It was a ton of fun but I will never again buy Christmas decorations that are not on sale! Holy expensive! The final picture is the craft I made in my craft club. It's really hard to explain what it is so I decided to show it!

Utes vs. Cougs Game Day PARTY!!!

Last night proved to me that even if you and your spouse do not agree on the winner of a certain football game that you can look passed those weaknesses in judgement and still love your spouse. Chad, I still love you even though you picked the losers!!! Just kidding BYU fans. I won't hate. It was a great game. Especially the 3rd quarter! Again, I'm not trying to be rude. It's just nice to have such a great win. I would like to rub it in just a little because I remember the last minute, heart breaking touchdowns from the years before. Anyways, we had lot's of fun with our big party last night. Chad was working the bbq with some great hot dogs and hamburgers, Jami brought her awesome potato salad, Bryan and Lindsey's seven layer dip was very good, and Kelli made some Mexican cookies! The kids ran around like crazy people but that must be the fun of having kids?!? BCS here we come! Or maybe I should say here I come! Sorry Chad.

Scantily Clad Women at the Gym

Chad and I decided to get a membership at Gold's Gym a couple of weeks ago. We've actually been going pretty regularly, and really enjoying the workouts. We did a spinning class the other day and it was a butt kicker, a straight hour of pure cardio workout, it was great! Chad went the next day and bought some padded biker shorts because the bike seats are so hard, his little bottom was sore. No pain no gain, right!! The workouts have been great, but one thing that becomes more apparent each time we go is that some people are there to workout and others are there to be seen. I mean I get that we're all there to look a little better and be a little healthier but come on! I don't need to see you in your cleavage revealing sports bra and too tight for underwear pants! Why do people suddenly think that they can where the amount of material a 6 year old wears to their gymnastics class? What changes when you walk under the Gold's Gym sign? It just amazes me what people are willing to wear.

Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off Festivities

A couple of weeks ago Chad and I had the pleasure of taking our friend Rick's pumpkin to the Utah Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off just down the street from us. The pumpkins were enormous and it took a fork lift to move them around. The heaviest one was unfortunately not Rick's. The winner weighed over 1000 pounds. Just shy of the state record of 1104. That's a lot of pumpkin pies:) You can obviously see by the ominous clouds that it was very rainy and cold. Not the fun part. That's for sure. Our Yard is In!

After many hours of hard work and sweat (mostly Chad's because I was conveniently working everyday we did sod) our yard is finally in. The decorative curbing, rv pad, fence, and sprinkler system are all done too. Chad has decided never to do a yard again. If there is a next house we will only take it if the yard is put in. Also many thanks to Rick, Roman, Blake, and Nate as well for there help. It looks great and next spring we'll be able to put in our plants and a tree. YES!

Our First Blog and My First Real Soccer Game

So this is our first posting. I have know idea how to use this whole blogspot thing. Hopefully, I can learn all the tricks to the trade here. I guess it won't be hard to find out because everyone has a freaking blog!!! Now we are just as dorky as everyone else:) This is a picture of the Rio Tinto Stadium where the Real Soccer team plays. My mom won us tickets at her work so we had seats on the front row of the second balcony right in the center of the field. It was really fun but I made Chad leave 5 minutes early cause I have the nervous 'I can't be stuck in traffic' itch inherited from my Dad. He always made us leave early from everything and now I get anxious if we don't. Right when we were walking down the stairs we could here "GOAL, GOAL, GOAL!'. Oops. My bad. Oh they were already winning.....
